When I was a little, I used to spend most of my holiday time in Badung which my mom’s home area. Beaches are where I explore the most during that period, but lately I have to stay in my dad’s home area a little bit longer due to father’s health condition. So I decided to explore the Kintamani area instead.
Different from Badung, Kintamani is a highland area located in the north of East Bali. Since it is high in the mountain of Bali then the temperature is usually about 15 degree Celcius. Prepare your jacket guys!
Not many visitors for both domestic and international you can see in this area. It might be most of tourists prefer beach to mountain but count on me visited this area will amaze you especially if you are nature hunter.
You might have heard about Penglipuran Village one of the well-preserved culture and the original layout of Balinese village or also heard about the active volcano Mount Batur and serene Lake Batur around it. If you heard all of the mentioned places and have an interest in it you will love the place that I inform you later on.
That day, the sky was a little bit cloudy but not decrease my desire to visit Toyo Bungkah . Toyo Bungkah is located in down at the edge of Late Batur. Actually, not so far from my dad’s home in Bangli region just takes about 45 mins to get there BUT prepare yourself to get great scenery along the way. After reaching the top of Kintamani hill, we need to drive down the hill again heading to base of Mount Batur. You will see the side of the Lake Batur and the caldera of Mount Batur which is recognized as the first World Geopark in Indonesia archipelago by UNESCO on Sept 2012. Listed on here. Prepare your camera and get ready for AMAZING scenery.
Are we going to climb the mountain then?
The answer is no. Even Toya Bungkah is only well-known as a one of the places for people stay before climbing Batur Mountain early in the morning, but this place also famous for steaming hot spring (Toya means water). There are many spots to enjoy the hot spring, but I choose the famous one to show you best spot I experienced.
In Toya Devasya you can enjoy not only hot spring, but also pamper yourself with Balinese SPA all with scenery panoramic of Batur Lake. Entrance fee is 100K for domestic tourists and 200K for international tourist all for adult. Besides entrance fee you need to deposit additional 100K to get card later you can use this card for buying food, get a key for a locker and also borrow the towel. You can withdraw your deposit once you finish.
Unfortunately, there was a construction in many spots in the area even though does not directly distract you while you enjoy swimming the pool but still feel uncomfortable somehow.
You can enjoy the 5 pools as total which is 1 Olympic size pool and 4 hot pools.
but there is the best pool that you can enjoy the breathtaking view. You might know this word from Instagram as infinity pool.
